ETRC Meeting - at Scott Davis' House
Last minute topic change from DIY ballast build to "things to DIY with PVC". Topic
change lead to fairly informal discussions between about 15 attendies.
Don showed kalk reactor built by Anthony's designs/plans. The benefits of the unit is
added Ca and alkalinity at much lower cost than Ca reactor. Raises pH to offset the
lowering effect of a Ca reactor's use of CO2 which lowers pH. Consider: possibility
to add super saturated kalk to tank if mixing timer matches with top off switches.
Scott showed $20 diy skimmer using rubbermaid containers, PVC, a Mag 5 pump, and venturi injection.

Eddie showed his DIY dual-400 ballast built by Charles. Eddie also showed his Lumeric(sp?) reflector
with XM 15k bulbs. Discussion revolved around the blue-ness and white-ness of different bulbs.
Art will host November meeting. Topic is to be decided. Graham may host December meeting.
