The meeting starting time was 2 pm
Members present: Matt Carberry, Chase Arbuckle, Don Chinners, Art Curl, Mel Eldridge, Eddie Neal, Randy Outhouse, David Sease, Travis Lowe, Paul Nolen, Dana Hughes and Richard Hughes, Kim Rouse & Garrett Hoskins, Mike Gaugher
Randy Outhouse started the meeting --

  1. Welcome new members – Travis Lowe, Paul Nolen, Dana & Richard Hughes, Kim Rouse & Garrett Hoskins
  2. Salt order busted.  Seems that it was too expensive to order a large number of salt buckets.  Shipping was much less if you order only 2 buckets from Dr. F&S
  3. Frag swap sponsored by ETRC
    Swap on June 14th 2008, 12 noon – 4 pm

Fellowship Church -- 8000 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville
Volunteers needed to help with the swap.  Randy will start a RC thread to seek vol.
Commercial venders are being contacted to see if they wish to participate for $25/table or a $50 donation

  1. March meeting at Dave Anderson’s house
  2. Field trips – a trip to the Chattanooga Aquarium with free admission for club members with a behind-the-scenes tour available for a charge. Family members will be welcome. This trip is currently being planned.   Eleven tickets have been donated by the Chatt. Aquarium.  The club will pay the remainder for ETRC members.  April 5th is the date.

Randy Outhouse started the meeting –

  5. David Sease made a treasurer’s report – currently the club checking account has a balance in excess of $1900.
  6. The offer to allow ERTC members to join the Coral Reef in their orders was discussed. Eddie Neal contacted CR and obtained the following info:

Coral Reef has offered to allow ETRC members to “join in” on its orders and receive a preorder discount.

    • Corals, Fish, Inverts, Live Rock
    • Place order on or before Saturday -- Order will be made on Sunday
    • When placing order, CR will need the common name of fish or coral, and/or type of live rock
    • The scientific name may be required to avoid confusion
    • Color of coral may be needed to avoid confusion
    • MUST be able to pick up fish, coral, or live rock on Tuesday
    • (Although some special orders arrive on Friday, >90% of them arrive on Tuesday)
    • In order for you to pick up your order when it arrives, leave phone# so CR can call
    • Orders do not always arrive in Knoxville at the same time each time
    • Pick up time is normally mid afternoon to late evening
    • If the fish, coral, or invert is DOA, the CR will order for you again
    • If the fish, coral, invert arrives alive, it is yours
    • Price will be 66% of retail price. (Normal ETRC discounted price is 90% of retail)
    • Dry goods
    • Place order on or before Saturday – Order will be made on Sunday
    • Orders arrive on Thursday –
    • Pick up before close of business on Saturday (7pm)
    • Price will be 75% of retail price (Normal ETRC discounted price is 90% of retail)
    • Only ETRC members (with membership cards) eligible

    June 2008 meeting minutes
    The transition to the new BOD took place:
    President: Eddie Neal
    Vice President: Randy Outhouse
    Treasurer: David Sease
    Secretary: Kim Rouse

    1. Discussion about the website and possible people to keep it updated. Randy is going to talk with his Mom about doing it, if that doesn't work out Eddie has someone in mind.
    2. Dana is designing a new logo for ETRC and Max will make the shirts. Price to be announced.
    3. Discussed the possibility of having a PR person.  No final decision made.

    Note from President:
    A bunch of you folks missed the meeting. It may have been that we should have postponed Dana’s turn until July. I will take responsibility for that. What’s done is done. If she desires, we will give Dana another chance to show off her tanks in the near future. Shoot, when she hooks a Ro/Di unit to her well water and modifies her lighting to get more light directed to the tank, she will be able to show us all of her new SPS growing and doing fine.  (Eddie Neal)

    In attendance: Matt Carberry, Dana Hughes, Art Curl, David Sease, Geoff Pettit, Chris Ray, Eddie Neal, Dave and Barb Anderson, Garry Ogilvie, Jeff Moersch, Ashley and Randy Outhouse, Kim Rouse, and Kevin Jett

      • We discussed dues. Eddie should have a list of who owes what and can let you know if you missed the meeting.
      • August is Chatt's Frag Swap so we will not have a meeting that month.
      • September's meeting will be at Matt's. We will meet at the hatchery at 12:00 take the tour and then go to his house.
      • Discussed the idea of having a reference library (again).
      • Randy discussed his tanks. He also covered what has/hasn't worked for him in the hobby regarding the tanks.
      • Coral Reef is looking into doing an ORA order and list was passed out of corals available.

November 2008 Meeting Minutes

Meeting held at Mel Eldridge and Nathan’s house

In attendance: Eddie, Randy and Ashley, Kim, Mel and Nathan, Janie, Joel, and Jeff

Randy discussed packing and shipping frags.

Group order thru LA was discussed. Randy is in charge of the group order. The Club will be picking up the shipping charges. Order will be delivered at Fed Ex the morning of the Christmas party......more details to come.

Discussion of future club activities. Open to requests.
